ABOUT THIS TRACK _______________________________________
Long ago, when I was a young man, I wrote a Jazz ballad. The story was written from a woman's perspective about a guy... a real jerk... who kept on claiming to love her even though he was always running back to the arms of his old girlfriend. Sadly, that guy was me, and I wrote the song to try to make amends.
I never found a female Jazz singer who wanted to sing it, so it hung around gathering dust on my hard drive until recently, when I correctly concluded that it really wasn't a very good Jazz ballad anyway, and maybe I should re-write the music and sing it myself.
So I did.

SONG LYRICS _____________________________________________
VERSE
Once upon a time… I used to be happy
But that ended when you smiled at me
I’ve been your prisoner… from the first “How do you do?”
Now you started to lie, but I can’t say goodbye.
So I cry and every day I try…
to convince you that your love for me is true
REFRAIN
But it seems like I’ll never …
No, I’ll never …
I will never, ever finish loving you
VERSE
(We spent our time) holding each other tight.
Now you’re with him, and I stare into the night.
know-ing-that-his-arms are holding you . . .
You build a wall whenever you answer his call,
… and-you-run-back-to him a-gain.
You’re a fool for pushing me away from you.
REFRAIN
But I guess I’ll never …
No, probably, never …
I guess I’ll never, ever finish loving you (Yeahhhhhh)
(guitar)
VERSE
I must have been blind … that man I used to be
… always lettin’ ya toy with me
But my eyes are open now and I can finally see
…that you broke my heart, I feel it every day.
We’ve split apart, but I bet you’ll be back someday.
To torture me the way you always do . . .
But I’m Hoping …
Oh Yeah I’m Hoping …
I’m Hoping that I’m finished loving you.
